Call for papers

Individuals are now invited to submit abstracts to present at the 6th Annual Conference of INEBRIA 2009. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 12th June 2009.

The conference aims to break new ground in the theory, research and implementation of screening and brief intervention (SBI) for alcohol use disorders. Evidence of the effectiveness in primary care is already well established however other essential aspects of SBI have received less attention and important potential applications remain unexplored. Abstracts on any aspects of screening and brief interventions for alcohol use disorders are welcomed. However, abstracts covering the following topics will receive priority:

  • Theory of brief interventions
  • Methodological issues in research on SBI
  • Optimal forms of screening in various settings
  • SBI in the criminal justice setting
  • Brief interventions and internet
  • SBI and young people
  • Application to minority ethnic groups
  • Innovative ways of encouraging implementation
  • Strategies for integrating SBI in policy
  • A global perspective on SBI
